Constituency Round-Up for September by Minister Noonan



As well as my important Departmental / Ministerial duties necessitating a significant amount of effort and time, so too do my equally important Constituency commitments, of which there are many. Below you will find the events / meetings with which my team and I were involved over the past month. I met with Trasna Productions at Fennelly’s Courtyard, Callan, Co Kilkenny to discuss the Creating the Future We Want report.


I met with Kilkenny Lions Club to discuss a national environmental initiative piloted by Lions Clubs and how it relates to sustainable development goals.


I attended the AGM of the Kilkenny LEADER Partnership (i) to discuss the pre-budget submission of the Irish Local Development Network and the status of Local Action Groups for rural development, (ii) to deliver a Guest of Honour Address (re how Ministerial responsibilities impact locally), and (iii) to take part in a panel discussion (on ‘Our Rural Future’).


I was interviewed by Community Radio Kilkenny City's Maurice O’Connor re #HousingForAll.


I visited Padmore & Barnes in Kilkenny to meet with artist / curator Pauline O’Connell to discuss the Boot Factory Oral History Project.


I attended the Board meeting of the national biodiversity initiative the Acorn Project.

My team attended on my behalf the recurring meeting of the Kilkenny Joint Policing Committee, feeding back to me its salient takeaways.












My team attended on my behalf the recurring meeting of Carlow County Council, relaying to me its follow-up and highlights.










I met with Big Start campaigners and Early Years educators to discuss the pre-budget submission for the sector.


I attended the AGM of Barnstorm Theatre Company's Board of Directors.


I attended a briefing meeting with Carlow-Kilkenny Oireachtas members re funding for 2022.


I met with a Politics & Society student from Loreto School Kilkenny to discuss her Citizenship Project on the social and political implications of social stratification.


I attended the Board meeting of the Heritage Council at the Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny.


I attended the official opening of Kilkenny County Council's Housing Project in Glebeside, Donaguile, Castlecomer, #Kilkenny. #HousingForAll


I attended the official opening of Kilkenny County Council's Housing Project, Broguemaker, in Páirc Nua, Castlecomer Road, #Kilkenny. #HousingForAll


I attended the official opening of Kilkenny County Council's Housing 'Respond Project' at Margaret's Field, Callan Road, #Kilkenny. #HousingForAll


All of these events / meetings along with regular weekly clinics with my constituents (and with my fantastic team making representations on behalf of our constituents) about the issues that matter most to them has made for a thoroughly satisfying and worthwhile month of work here in Carlow-Kilkenny.
