26th June 2023

Today I am happy to welcome the announcement of $3.4m in capital funding for the South East Technological University by Minister of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris.

This capital funding announcement is part of €40 million funding being distributed to 20 third level institutions to improve college campuses. Funds will be used to improve access for people with disabilities, and invest in necessary upgrades. This will help make campuses more accessible and inclusive.

"The number of people attending higher education is increasing and our college campuses need to expand and improve to cater for these increased numbers".

Minister of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris.

The funding can also be used for energy efficiency and de-carbonisation upgrades, investment to support universal access, general ICT and equipment upgrades, health and safety works and minor works and equipment.

Funding will be provided through the Higher Education Authority(HEA) for all Technological Universities, Institutes of Technology except for two who will be funded directly by the Department.
